Op 13 januari 2023 promoveerde Phyllis van der Ploeg aan de Universiteit Maastricht op haar proefschrift getiteld ‘Unravelling the role of signal transduction pathways in high-grade serous carcinogenesis, the road towards personalized treatment of ovarian cancer?’. Het promotieonderzoek werd begeleid door prof. dr. Ruud Bekkers (Catharina Ziekenhuis, Eindhoven en GROW School for Oncology and Developmental Biology, Universiteit Maastricht), dr. Jurgen Piek (Catharina Ziekenhuis en Catharina Kanker Instituut), dr. Sandrina Lambrechts (Maastricht Universitair Medisch Centrum+) en dr.
