Op 29 februari 2024, zeldzame ziektedag, promoveerde Eline de Heus aan de Radboud Universiteit op haar proefschrift, getiteld ‘Rare versus common cancers in the Netherlands’. Promotoren waren prof. dr. M.A.W. Merkx (afdeling IQ Healthcare, Radboudumc en voorzitter raad van bestuur, Integraal Kankercentrum Nederland (IKNL)) en prof. dr. C.M.L. van Herpen (afdeling Medische Oncologie, Radboudumc). Copromotoren waren dr. S.F.A. Duijts (afdeling Research & Development, IKNL en afdeling Medische Psychologie, Amsterdam UMC) en dr. J.M. van der Zwan (afdeling Zorgtransformatie, SeederDeBoer). De belangrijkste bevindingen worden hieronder beschreven.
