Op 9 juni 2016 promoveerde mw. E.M.V. de Cuba aan de Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam op het proefschrift, getiteld ‘Towards personalized medicine in treatment and care of patients with peritoneal metastases of colorectal cancer’. Het onderzoek werd verricht in het VU medisch centrum te Amsterdam onder begeleiding van co-promotor en promotores mw. dr. E.A. te Velde, chirurg, dhr. prof. dr. G.A. Meijer, patholoog, en dhr. prof. dr. H.J. Bonjer, chirurg. Hieronder staan de belangrijkste bevindingen van het onderzoek weergegeven.
