De incidentie van hypothyreoïdie na behandeling van een larynx- of hypofarynxcarcinoom is hoog. In dit proefschrift werd het voorkomen van hypothyreoïdie retrospectief en prospectief onderzocht, werden risicofactoren geïdentificeerd, volgde inventarisatie van screening van de schildklierfuncties bij collega’s en het effect van substitutiebehandeling.
